Detailed description of Frederica Golf Club

Frederica Golf Club is a private 18-hole golf course located in Saint Simons Island, Georgia. The course is set within the gated Frederica residential community.

The Frederica golf course opened in 2005. The course was designed by Tom Fazio.

The course has elevation changes, surprising, considering the generally flat terrain of Saint Simons Island. Fazio created the moundings with 4.5 million cubic yards of earth made available from digging the 400-acre lake.The rolling terrain looks natural. Almost 1,800  trees were transplanted from what is now the lake. The biggest oaks couldn’t be lifted so crews built trenches, then used bulldozers to push and pull the giant oaks into place at a cost of $30,000 each. Needless to say, no expense was not spared on the course, and it shows.

The course plays to a par -72 and in excess of 7,200 yards from the championship tees.
